Well, it seems that part of the problems I saw earlier when trying to upgrade Remository were caused by some strange interaction with the Xaneon extensions (which updated smoothly, or so it seemed).

Finally took a look at Flickr, and really liked the platform a lot. So much that I’ve decided to put the pics I’ve taken and want to share (not many fortunately) over there, and leave a link here to my gallery.

Among the things I am changing in my site is the move to use Xaneon Extensions (it was known as Xaneon Alias Manager). And, unlike the problems that have happened while trying to use the latest zOOm gallery (a disaster so far), or trying to upgrade remository to 3beta1, the move to Xaneon Extensions went without a hitch.

After I finish with some more tinkering, I might give the components that failed to work another try, or look for a simpler alternative, at least for a picture gallery.

After installing (in Mambo) zOOm gallery and trying some things, it seemed to work, but for some unknown reason, it left the content management system a tad askew.

I’ve finally upgraded my site to the new Mambo 4.5.2.1 (yep, patched it too :-).
